Aaron Soard

This memorial website was created in the memory of our youngest of four sons, Aaron Matthew Soard.  Aaron was born in Tulsa OK on March 29, 1971 and was taken home on February 14, 2004 at the age of 32 in Plano Texas. 

Aaron moved with his parents to Richardson, TX in 1973.  He attended Plano schools and graduated from Plano Senior High School in May 1989.  Aaron also attended Collin County Community College with a major in Marketing. 

Aaron enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1990, was trained as a Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Specialist at Ft. McClellan, AL, and graduated with honors in the top of his class.  He was an NBC Specialist in the 761 Chemical Company assigned to the 7th Light Infantry Division at Fort Ord, CA.  

He received the Army Service Ribbon/National Defense Service Medal/Sharpshooter Badge with M16 Rifle Component Bar/Expert Badge with Grenade Component Bar/Army Achievement Medal.  Near the end of this active duty enlistment, he was recruited by U.S. ArmySpecial Forces. Aaron completed his active duty as an SPC E-4 with an Honorable Discharge.  

Aaron fulfilled his reserve obligation in the Texas National Guard as an NCO specialist for Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Warfare, Co. B., 249th Signal Battalion, in Dallas.  He received the Adjutant General’s Individual Award for Distinguished Meritorious Achievement and Outstanding Service in 1994 and again in 1995. 

Following his military service, Aaron owned and operated a successful Landscape Service business in North Dallas.  Later he had a career in the Insurance industry working for GEICO Insurance and then as an independent agent for National Agent’s Alliance.  

Throughout his life, Aaron developed a very strong faith in Christ Jesus, our Lord.  He was a member of Bent Tree Bible Fellowship Church, Carrollton, TX.   

Aaron is survived by his parents Don and Kathleen Soard, Plano; brother and sister-in-law, Shannon and Susan Soard; nephew. Alec Soard and nieces, Emma and Hannah Soard, central TX; brother, Kevin Soard, Plano; brother, Jason Soard, Waxahachie, TX; uncle and aunt, Richard and Cindy Soard, cousins, Ryan and Kyle Soard, Atlanta, GA; uncle and aunt, Roger and Dianna Soard, Winchester Bay, OR; great aunt, Mary Soard-Musgrove, Oklahoma City, 

Most everyone who really knew Aaron will remember him forever.   Update - On February 10, 2010, Aaron's older brother, Kevin, passed away.  Now, they will enjoy one another's companionship until we all can be together as a family, united by Christ our Lord and Savior.
